NORWICH – First Baptist Church has been granted $9,000 from the New York Landmarks Conservancy’s Sacred Sites Program.

According to representatives of the church, the funds will offset the cost of replacing the roof, which was done this past summer by Shaver Contracting in Earlville. The total cost of the project was $57,200.

Representatives said earlier in 2019, some water damage was noticed on the ceiling of the sanctuary. Upon inspection, it was determined that the entire main roof needed to be replaced.
