Wildcats conquer Storm’s power on the lanes to sweep MAC matches

HANCOCK – Both the girls and boys of the Unadilla Valley Storm bowling program fell to powerhouse Hancock on the lanes Tuesday afternoon as the Wildcats swept both matches.
The UV girls fell by a total of 345 pins while the Storm boys were downed by 223.
Hancock’s Brenna Gleim, who earlier this season broke the Midstate Athletic Conference series record, finished with the highest three-game total of 563 for the match.
Paige Catena of the Storm bowled a 485 for the match to lead the team. Pyper Kneale’s 456 was second best and Gracie Oglesby rolled a 448 series. Bryn Grant added a 430 series for UV while Whitney Rogers and Pralen Hill split the match.
Rogers scored in the first two games of the match, totaling a 272 and Hill rolled a 94 for game three.
McKenzie Worzel and Mickayla Norton both rolled games over 500 for the Wildcats to help push past the Storm. Worzel bowled a 529 while Norton finished just five pins behind with a 524.
On the boys side, Brandon Kneale and Mike Bliss each finished with a match series score over 500 but Hancock was able to come away with the win as three of their five bowlers tally scores in the 500’s.
Brandon ended the day with a team-best 520 series while Bliss was six pins back with a 514. Will Rumovicz was the only other UV bowler who participated in all three games for the match, recording a 469.
Nick Guller, who rolled in the second and third games, scored a 376 and scored the best single game of the match for the Storm with a 200.
Collin Grant bowled in the first and second games to finished with a 347 and Owen Hill took part in games one and three of the match to end with a 284.
Tyler Allen of the Wildcats scored a 613 with two games of 200. Allen’s third game scored a 234, the highest by any bowler of the match.
Teammates Anton Leonard scored 573 with a his second game being a 207 and Peyton Johnson rolled a 551, which included a 210 to open up the match.
Unadilla Valley travels to Deposit Thursday for another MAC league match. Action on the lanes begin at 3:45 p.m.
