Storm’s early pressure leads to senior night win over Harpursville

Blackhawks snatch road win from Bobcats; Marauders downed by Mustangs


NEW BERLIN – The Lady Storm of Unadilla Valley jumped out to a quick start thanks to their five seniors Wednesday night. UV then saw five different players score in the fourth to hold off the second half really by the visiting Harpursville Hornets to capture the 48-35 Midstate Athletic Conference victory on senior night for the Storm.

Prior to the start of the contest, head coach Brandi Whitbeck honored her five seniors for 2019-2020 – Meegan White, Kyleigh George, Claire Converse, Kayla Christian and Alexis Buchanan – for the years of dedication to the program with hard work day in and day out.

Once the special recognition for the five was over, the Storm seniors got down to business as White started off the game with a left corner jumper. George followed up with her own bucket the next trip down the floor, hitting the shot from nearly the exact same location on the court.

George scored the next four points before White tallied her second bucket, taking the 10-4 lead with just under four minutes remaining in the first quarter of play.

Underclassman Kadence York of Unadilla Valley then got in on the scoring action, adding four points in the quarter before White capped off the stanza with one of two free throws.
