SAUQUOIT – Sherburne-Earlville’s Tessa Cole, Elizabeth Peila and Jaci Wright combined for 55 of the Lady Marauders’ 59 points in the 59-39 win over host Sauquoit Valley on Monday.
Cole finished with 23 points to lead all scorers and was a perfect 4-for-4 behind the 3-point arc, counting for 12 of her points. She added six rebounds, six assists and eight steals to her stat line while senior teammates Peila and Wright finished with 20 and 12 points and 15 boards between the two.
Sherburne-Earlville quickly got out to an 18-11 lead after the first and cruised to a 18-point margin by halftime. During the first two quarters of play, Wright tallied just four points but Peila and Cole paced the Marauders with 15 and 14 points.
In the second half of play, Wright came alive as she scored eight points – four in each of the two quarters. Cole was quiet in the third with just four points but quickly came alive with a 3-pointer in the early minutes of the fourth.
