Area volunteers gather for disaster response training

NORWICH – On Saturday about 30 local volunteers gathered to partake in a disaster response training, as part of an effort to form an Early Response Team.


The team, which has been referred to as a set of secondary responders, will aid in the clean up after a disaster, such as a flood, as well as provide emotional support to victims.


According to the City of Norwich Emergency Operations Center, The Early Response Team is being conducted in cooperation with the City of Norwich and Chenango County Emergency Management offices.
