Brindisi updated listeners on some of the work going on in Washington, DC, including the recent passage of the third coronavirus stimulus package. He said millions of dollars are going to his district to help families and fight the virus, but that supplies are still needed for many hospitals in the region.

“One of the big concerns that we’re working on right now is making sure we’re getting personal protective equipment to our healthcare workers,” he added. “We want to make sure our workers can keep themselves safe and continue to save lives.”

SUNY Upstate Medical CEO Dr. Robert Corona spoke on the coronavirus during the teleconference, and said medical professionals have been speaking to doctors that successfully treated people with the virus in Wuhan China to help develop successful strategies for the area.
