Norwich and Oneonta women charged with burglary following pursuit

EDMESTON - Two women are facing felony charges following an alleged burglary and police pursuit in the Town of Edmeston.


According to Troop C Public Information Officer Aga Dembinska, on July 13, 2020 at 4:34 p.m., patrols from the New York State Police at Richfield Springs observed a vehicle leaving the scene of a burglary on County Route 20 in the town of Edmeston and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.


She said the operator of the vehicle, who was later identified Jesse M. Souza, 30, of Oneonta, failed to comply, and led troopers on a pursuit through several Otsego County roads.

“The pursuit ended when Souza struck the passenger side of an Otsego County Sheriff’s Department vehicle on Allen Road in the Town of New Lisbon,” said Dembinska. “Souza was taken into custody after a foot pursuit.”
