CHENANGO COUNTY - The National Weather Service (NWS) has released a heat advisory for areas including Chenango County, with a warning that there will be a heat index value of up to 95 degrees today.

According to the NWS, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Chenango County will see hot temperatures and high humidity that may cause heat illnesses to occur.

The service recommends that residents drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
