Man wanted in Rhode Island for sex crime to be arrested or released

NORWICH – A man wanted out of Rhode Island for allegedly having sexual interactions with a minor is scheduled to be released if members of Rhode Island’s law enforcement fail to pick him up within 30 days.


Shawn M. German, 30, of Rhode Island is being held at the Chenango County Correctional Facility after Rhode Island released a warrant for his arrest for the crime of indecent solicitation of a child, a felony.

Chenango County Court Judge Frank Revoir Jr., spoke on German’s case Friday afternoon, and said in German’s initial arraignment he denied having spent time in Rhode Island. Revoir said German received additional information on Friday, and he signed a waiver for the warrant not requesting a hearing.


“Mr. German requested additional information because the paperwork he was initially provided with only provided barebones information,” said Revoir. “When we spoke last you said you didn’t recall even being in the state of Rhode Island.”
