NORWICH – Helping Hands continues to grow by partnering with local organizations to help people in need.
According to Norwich’s Helping Hands Director Lorri Race this month’s donation night will occur at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, at the Norwich Family YMCA.
Helping Hands is a nonprofit comprised of volunteers who help individuals by providing them donated goods. During giveback nights, people from around Chenango County bring their own items to be donated, and those who need the items are able to attend regardless of income.
“Helping Hands has been blessed to be able to partner with several organizations to provide more to the community,” said Race. “In addition, Helping Hands put out specific requests to the community and we were met with an overwhelming response!”
“We asked and the community answered, and we are so grateful to everyone that has utilized our new Venmo account and to everyone that reads our Facebook page and drops off at the collection nights.”
Race said a number of different organizations and businesses have stepped up to take part in this month’s effort. She said there will be more variety at this event, and hopefully people come out and take what they need.
