Runners to present flags to key sites in Norwich in remembrance of 9/11

NORWICH – A group of flag runners will visit three key sites in Norwich tonight to honor all of those who were lost on 9/11.


According to Run Chenango Representative Ann Coe, some of CNY Fit Running Club’s patriot runners will run through Norwich tonight starting at the Chenango County Courthouse steps.


The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday night, with brief stops at the Norwich Fire and Police Departments along with the Veterans of Foreign Wars building.

Coe said those runners have also represented New York Run For the Fallen, whose mission is to run one mile to honor and remember each fallen hero from the current conflicts, the total run represents every service member from New York who laid down their lives for freedom's cause.


“These runners participate in NY Run for the Fallen and are also members of our run club, Jim Carrabba, Kristi Mangine, Jessica Jaquay, Myron Thurston III, Megan Rodriguez and Robert Wansor,” she said.
