Aunt Mary’s House enters as finalist in grant giveback

NORWICH – Improve Norwich Now’s Aunt Mary’s House initiative is one of 12 finalists who have the potential to win a $2,000 grant with the help of its community.


Aunt Mary’s House, operating as a subchapter of I.N.N. Improve Norwich Now is a nonprofit.


The grant is issued through Southern Tier Tuesdays, and winners are chosen by the number of total votes.


According to Aunt Mary’s House Representative Lorraine Keckeisen, in order to win the nonprofits need their voters from everyone in the Norwich community and beyond. Keckeisen added that people can vote through Thursday to help support the cause.

Keckeisen said the mission of Aunt Mary’s House is to establish a haven for single mothers and their babies where they may safely live, acquire life skills, develop their education towards a career, and build confidence to become independent.
