Sherburne-Earlville – Earlville found its offense in the third quarter.

Cooperstown countered with 6-foot-8 John Kennedy scoring bucket after bucket.

Kennedy matched Sherburne-Earlville's 16-point third-quarter output on his own, and he finished with a game-high 31 points in the Hawkeyes' 69-44 boys' basketball victory at Cooperstown Tuesday night.

"He was definitely a man among boys tonight," said Sherburne-Earlville coach Kevin Vibbard of Kennedy.

As a sophomore, Kennedy was a key contributor in Cooperstown's 2019 New York State Class C championship run earning individual all-state honors.

On this evening, Kennedy was particularly effective on the offensive glass netting most of his third-quarter points on putbacks off offensive rebounds.
