Norwich Girls Soccer falls short at Oneonta

ONEONTA - After leading for the first half of the game, the Norwich Purple Tornado girls’ varsity soccer team dropped a game on the road against the rival Oneonta Yellowjackets by a score of 7-3 on Monday night.

Sydney Coggins was responsible for the Tornado’s first goal of the game and teammate Sarah Davis scored by crashing the goal later in the opening half to put Norwich up 2-1. Coggins would later score NHS’ third goal of the contest in the second half of play.

The Yellowjackets seven goals on the night were well earned as they shot 20 times on the Tornado net, and the Norwich defense held strong against Oneonta offensive onslaught for the first 60 minutes of play.
