B-G’s trio of second-half goals lifts it past Oxford
OXFORD - Oxford was as efficient with its shots as one team could be, but the overwhelming B-G offense led to a comeback victory Monday night.
Johnna Henderson scored two second-half goals as B-G erased a 2-1 deficit to beat Oxford, 4-3.
Kaylin Tefft had two goals for Oxford, and Kadence Gallo netted the third in the defeat. Those three goals also accounted for all of the Blackhawks’ shots on the day.
“We weren’t able to do much on offense tonight, but the chance we did get, we were able to get some good looks,” said Oxford coach Sierra Badger. “It wasn’t enough. Our defense wasn’t able to get the ball out of the middle, which led to B-G scoring three goals.”
Kate Roefs had two goals for the Bobcats as well. The first was a penalty kick in the opening half, and the second came at 25:50 of the second half that gave her club a 3-2 lead.
