Volleyball: Oxford outlasts UV in five sets
OXFORD - In a seesaw battle with visiting Unadilla Valley, Oxford closed out the Storm in five sets, 25-20, 22-25, 25-13, 19-25, 25-17, Wednesday on senior recognition night.
Maddy Howe had five aces, 10 kills, and 15 digs for Oxford, which improved its record to 7-1 on the season.
Howe closed out the first game for the Blackhawks with nine straight service points. In the third set, Lilie Horton and Daysha Simpson each racked up five straight services to help the host team regain command.
Olivia Kelsey led Oxford with 12 kills, and Horton paced the Oxford defense with 23 digs.
UV’s Shannon Lloyd put away eight kills to go with three service aces.

UV rallies past Delhi
NEW BERLIN - Down two sets to Delhi, Unadilla Valley rallied to win the final three beating the Bulldogs, 22-25; 15-25; 25-17; 25-15; 25-23 on Tuesday night.
“ It was a highly competitive -- and stressful - night of play, and both teams played very well,” said UV coach Amanda Ruggles Paulson.
Leah Gorrell contributed big numbers in multiple statistical categories finishing with six aces, four kills, and eight digs.
Kate Conway totaled a team-best 11 digs and nine assists, and Hudson Lyons finished with eight assists.
