NORWICH – In what can only be described as a turbulent sports season for Chenango County senior athletes, senior night is a special night for this group of athletes who have waited patiently first for their well-deserved tributes for their hardwork in the classroom and for the accomplishments they have received on the athletic fields during their high school career.
On Monday April 12, that special senior night took place for the Norwich Purple Tornado boys varsity soccer team as they honored their outgoing seniors Julian Roque, Dan Macy, Andrew Mullen and Lex Genute at halftime of their game vs Seton Catholic Central.
In the quintessential April showers, the Norwich Tornado dug deep and contested every play against a tough Saints squad. The intense Tornado defense held the Saints to a 1-0 lead at the conclusion of the first half, and left every ounce of effort on Ulrich field as Norwich couldn’t catch a break in the second-half of play as Seton went onto win by a final score of 2-0.
