OXFORD -  Oxford’s girls’ soccer team has put itself in position to finish with a winning season.
With two games to play, the Blackhawks evened their record at 3-3 in the shortened Fall Sports 2 campaign blanking Walton, 1-0, on Friday.
After a scoreless first half, Oxford connected with the game’s only goal 6 1/2 minutes into the second half when, Hailey Fleury tallied off a Caylin Tefft assist.
“We were able to move the ball around on offense today, and finally put a goal in,” said Oxford coach Sierra Badger. “We had some nice shots on goal, but nothing really connected for us until the second half. Our defense really came to life early in the second half, and was able to move the ball out.”
Oxford plays at Greene Monday night.

Greene 7, Afton -Harpursville 0
GREENE - Greene’s girls had their best offensive game of the season scoring seven goals in a shutout win over Afton-Harpursville on Friday.
Cassie Butler finished with a hat trick to lead Greene scoring two of her three goals after halftime.
The Trojans took a 2-0 lead into intermission as Butler and Adreana Romano had goals.
Andrea Trifunovic, Sarah Markham, and Cali Knapp added goals for the Trojans.

Greene finishes strong Fall 2 sports campaign
GREENE - Against Midstate Athletic Conference opponents, Greene’s boys’ soccer team was unbeatable.
The Trojans put up eight goals against Sidney on Friday, and cruised to an 8-0 shutout win.
Greene (8-2) suffered just two defeats during the 10-game season, and both losses came to a larger Southern Tier Athletic Conference school.
“I’m proud of the boys for their resilience and determination to put in a strong season during these unusual times,” said Greene coach Rick Tallman “I’m excited about our returning core this fall. I’d like to thank my eight seniors for their years of dedication, determination, and assure them they made Greene soccer proud.”
Trent Rapp had a hat trick for Greene, and assisted on a fourth goal to spark the Greene attack.
Jonny Lee had two goals, while Scout McCumiskey, Kolby Finch, and Liam Flanagan scored goals.
Luke DeJager was the Trojans’ top playmaker finishing with three assists in the win.

Otselic Valley 7, Brookfield 5
SOUTH OTSELIC - On senior recognition night, Otselic Valley won a shootout over Brookfield picking up its highest goal total of the season on Friday.
OV recognized injured senior, Lane Adams, along with fellow senior Garrett Wood before the contest.
In his final home game, Wood made it a memorable one finishing with three goals and two assists.
After Brookfield netted the game’s opening goal, the Vikings strung together the next five tallies, and took a 5-2 lead into halftime.
Cole Warren added two goals for OV, while Brandon Blanco and Jaxin Davis scored one goal apiece.
The Beavers scored early in the second half to make it a 5-3 game, but a few minutes later, Blanco netted what proved the winning goal of the game to push the lead back to three goals.
Brookfield pared the deficit to 6-5, but it was a 25-yard bending free kick by Warren that found the net to seal the Vikings’ win.
