BOYS' TENNIS

Oxford 3, Bainbridge-Guilford 2

OXFORD - Oxford's combined boys and girls tennis team improved to 2-0 on the season edging Bainbridge-Guilford on Thursday.

B-G's Garrett O'Hara and Porter Easton claimed wins at first and second singles, but it was all Oxford in the remaining matchups.

The Blackhawks' Abby Denz swept both sets in third singles, while the doubles teams of Madalyn Barrows-Natalie Barrows, and Jill Finch-Jocie Finch easily claimed wins in two sets apiece.

1S: Garrett O'Hara (Bainbridge-Guilford) d. John Rovente 6-2, 7-5

2S: Porter Easton (Bainbridge-Guilford) d. Ehly Ethan 6-0, 6-3

3S: Abby Denz (Oxford) d. Brock Porter 6-1, 6-2

Doubles

1D: Madalyn Barrows & Natalie Barrows (Oxford) d. Marek Rajner & Trent Sullivan 6-3, 6-2

Greene 3, Sidney 2

GREENE - Greene's combined boys and girls tennis team won for the second time this week taking a one-point victory over Sidney on Thursday.

With the match hanging in the balance, the Trojans' Cassie Butler and Paul Starliper, playing first doubles, gave Greene the deciding point in a tight three-set win.
