Beckwith named first team all-Liberty League

ROCHESTER – The University of Rochester softball team capped off an excellent women’s softball season in 2021 with nine players earning a total of 11 individual awards plus the Coaching Staff of the Year.
Rochester posted a 22-3 Liberty League record this year (29-8 before the playoffs began). The Yellowjackets earned the top seed in the Liberty League tournament and justified it by defeating #4 Skidmore College, 4-0, in the semifinals and number two Ithaca College, 6-1 in the championship game. UR earned the league’s automatic (Pool A) berth into the NCAA tournament. Rochester is 31-8 heading into NCAAs.
Sophomore Allison Beckwith (Oxford, Oxford Academy) was one of six Rochester players earning first team all-league honors.
Beckwith appeared in 30 games as a designated player or pinch-hitter with 18 starts. She finished 20-for-58 (.345 average) at the plate with four doubles, seven home runs (tied with three teammates for second highest total), 21 RBI, 14 runs scored, a slugging pct. of .786, eight walks, and a .416 on-base percentage.
