Chobani IPO filing suggests huge payout for local employees

SOUTH EDMESTON - Sixteen years after its founding in Chenango County, Chobani is seeking a place on the New York Stock Exchange.


The company announced last week that it had confidentially filed documents with NYSE that may lead to an initial public offering valued as high as $10 billion.


The move would be a financial boon for many of the company’s plant workers in South Edmeston who were promised financial stake in the company back in 2016, when Chobani Founder and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya offered employees shares worth up to 10 percent.
