NORWICH — The fifth performance in the 2021 NBT Bank Summer Concert Series has been cancelled due to COVID-19, according to Chenango Blues Fest officials.
The show was scheduled for Thursday, August 5, at 7 p.m. Unfortunately, someone "within the Shinyribs organization" has tested positive for COVID-19.
"Despite being fully vaccinated and exercising an abundance of caution, we unfortunately have a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the Shinyribs organization," said Shinyribs representatives. "For the safety of the band, crew, venue, and fans, we unfortunately will have to cancel our shows through August 9."
Blues Fest Organizer Eric Larsen said officials are working on finding a new performer for Thursday.
"We will have a performance on Thursday, and as soon as we can confirm it's one of the artists we've reached out to, we'll say it on social media," said Larsen.
He added that officials hope they "will be able to announce something by the end of the day today."
