Girls' soccer: Oxford turns it on to pull away from Afton-Harpursville
Oxford 5, Afton-Harpursville 1
OXFORD - An early deficit to Afton-Harpursville awoke the Oxford offense in Wednesday afternoon's comeback victory.
Anna Cole scored in the 15th minute for A-H as her team was poised to take a lead into halftime.
"We started off very slow and our defense was playing flat in the first half," said Oxford coach Sierra Badger. ""We were able to turn things around in the second half. Hailey Fleury was able to make some opportunities for our offense, and put two goals in."
Fleury and Kaylin Tefft did all the goal-scoring for Oxford (3-1), which won for the third time in four outings this season.
Fleury tied the game moments after Afton-Harpursville's goal on a chip shot from the corner, and Tefft put Oxford in front in the 27th minute.
