WAVERLY - It takes a team perfectly in synch, in any sport, to find success. That synchronization is no more important than football, and the Norwich Cyclones A team players were all on the same page in the Southern Tier Youth Football Conference championship game Saturday against Maine-Endwell.

On the heels of an unbeaten regular season and two convincing playoff victories, the number one-seeded Cyclones completed a perfect season with a commanding 29-0 shutout victory over Maine-Endwell.

The Norwich defense was hitting on all cylinders forcing three turnovers, two which were converted on the offensive side into a pair of touchdowns.

Cooper Chrystie had two first-half interceptions helping the Cyclones' offense stay on the field most of the opening two quarters.

Bo Brown scored on a TD run - the only score of the first half - lifting the Cyclones to a 6-0 halftime advantage.

The hard-nosed defense carried over to the second half as M-E struggled to convert a first down. That defense, which allowed only four touchdowns all season, set the stage for a prolific second half of Norwich offense.

Cooper Chrystie had two rushing scores to lead the second-half offensive attack, and Carter Chrystie added a 12-yard TD scamper for the final points of a perfect 2021 season.
