FENTON- Purple Tornado senior Makaio Sutton wrapped up his high school cross-country career at the Class C State Championship meet on Saturday November 13th at Chenango Valley State Park.

Sutton advanced to the New York State Championships by virtue of a fifth place finish in the Section IV state qualifier. Sutton improved upon his placement this weekend by placing fourth among Section IV’s top talent in the Class C race, as he went on his way to a 37th place finish out of the 132 runner field in a time of 18:03.2.

“Last week in the state individual rankings Makaio was ranked 85th in Class C so his 37th place finish today was evidence of how well he did” said Norwich Head Coach Shaun Horan.
