Norwich/SVgame to be Continued

NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado and the Sus Valley Sabers decided after five and two-third innings to put a hold on the game with the Sabers leading 17-8. The two teams are in the same division, so they will be able to make it up come May.

So far in the game, Norwich's Evan Sylstra has three RBIs off two doubles while Torin Lawrence had an RBI double in the third inning that put Norwich up 7-6.

Both Michael Hagen and Tristan Phagen have a hit a piece and look for more when play resumes.

Norwich also tied the game at eight before the sixth, thanks to an Sus Valley overthrown ball on a steal.

Norwich pitching has a combined six strikeouts in the paused game.

While Norwich won't resume this game until May, the Tornado will travel to Vestal this evening (Wednesday) for a 5 p.m. start.

As of 8:45 a.m: According to Norwich baseball coach Donny Lawrence, due to the league’s discretion, Norwich and Sus Valley will be replaying this game from scratch at a later date.
