BASEBALL: Norwich splits two games over the weekend

CHENANGO COUNTY– The Norwich Purple Tornado baseball team went even on the weekend, defeating Owego on Friday before suffering the loss to Sidney on Saturday.
Norwich 11- Owego 3
Norwich got hot in the seventh inning, scoring seven of 11 runs. Drew Brooks, Zack Parker, Torin Lawrence, and Evan Sylstra contributed to those runs.
Parker would finish 3-for-4 on the day while Sylstra went 2-for-4 with a team-high five RBIs.
Norwich's Keegan Franklin earned the win on the mound, striking out six batters.
Sidney 9 - Norwich 1
Sidney scored four runs off Norwich in the fourth to earn the victory.
Norwich's Drew Brooks went 2-for-3 while Mike Hagen struck out two batters in the loss.
Next: Norwich is set to host Windsor this evening (Monday) at 5:30 p.m.
