NORWICH – In the second game of the inaugural season, the Norwich flag football team suffered a 19-6 loss to Chenango Valley in their first home game.

Norwich could not stop the Warriors rush game as they scored three touchdowns. Two touchdowns on a Quarterback keeper and one from the running back.

The Purple Tornado scored with 5:41 left in the game as Cameron VanHouten’s pass to Emma Urgo was complete for a 32 yard touchdown. Norwich would miss the extra point.

Urgo along with Kayla Sherman were dominant on defense. Sherman intercepted the ball on a Chenango Valley first and goal in the first half while Urgo stopped Maisy Wood on scoring a big rushing touchdown with a minute to go until halftime.

Norwich heads to Owego for a matchup Saturday night at 6 p.m.
