Norwich Softball Celebrates first Win since 2018

NORWICH– The Norwich Purple Tornado softball team played two games over the weekend.

On Friday, they hosted Oneonta where they honored their six seniors; Taylor Finch, Chloe Glanville, Allysson Kampe, Rhianna Philbrick, Kiara Sherman, and Mercedes Zdanowicz.

Norwich would lose to Oneonta 14-1. Taylor Finch went 1-for-2 with a RBI single as Kampe scored on her line drive to right field in the first inning.

On Saturday, Norwich played Seton Catholic, where they won 13-6. Their first win in 1471 days dating back to the 2017-2018 season.

Norwich pitcher Maddy Quattrocchi picked up her first win with 10 strikeouts. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a single.

Behind Quattrocchi, Taylor Finch hada perfect 3-for-3 with a double and two singles while Emily Flynn hit a home run and Emma Brooks had a triple in her 3-for-3 day.

Norwich heads to Sus Valley this afternoon (Monday) for a 4:30 p.m. start.
