Baseball: Norwich defeats Edmeston in Pony League play
EDMESTON – On Monday afternoon, the Norwich pony league team defeated Edmeston 13-2 in six innings. Pony League is a summer baseball league featuring athletes ranging from 13 to 16 years old playing against teams from the local area.
Graham Burton led Norwich on the mound as well as at the plate. On the mound, he pitched three innings, racking up nine strikeouts through 15 batters. He also finished 3-for-4 at the plate with a 2-run home run, a double, and a single. He collected four RBIs on the day. Kaden Downey drove in two runs with a double and got on base with three walks. Colin Olds contributed with an RBI triple.
In relief, Jackson Sastri finished the game with six strikeouts.
Norwich is set to host Sherburne on Thursday evening starting at 6 p.m.
