Summer reading program winners at the New Berlin library

NEW BERLIN – The 2022 New Berlin summer reading program concluded on August 31.  

The Summer Reading Program takes place annually during the months of July and August at the New Berlin Library.  

Children ages 12 and younger participate by recording their reading time. By reaching reading milestones they are able to win small prizes throughout the summer.   The more the children read the more chances they get to win the grand prizes. 


The winners of the grand prize raffles were pulled on September 1.   The winner of the bicycle was Isis Reincke.   The winner of the take along train set was Conner and Quinton Holbert. and the winner of the orca pool toy was Kenzie Anderson.   


Beginning on October 12, the New Berlin Library will resume holding 4H/Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chenango County After School Programs.  
4H Educator, Erica Clark, leads lessons the second Wednesday of each month, in the New Berlin Library Community Room, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.   

The schedule for the next 4H/Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chenango County After School Programs is October 12 and November 9.
The after school programs takes place from 3:30-4:30 in the New Berlin Library Community Room.   When weather permits the program will be held outside, behind the library.   


Some great new additions to the library include: A Song of Comfortable Chairs (The New Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency Novel) by Alexander McCall Smith, Fairy Tale by Stephen King, Clive Cussler's Hellburner (A Novel of the Oregon Files) by Mike Madden, Desperation in Death (An Eve Dallas Novel) by J. D. Robb, The Pigeon Will Ride the Roller Coaster by Mo Willems, and Everybody Just Be Quiet by Jennie Wiley, Make a Wish on a Fish by Jennie Wiley, and Bluey Seasons 1 & 2 DVD.
