NORWICH – On Friday night, the Norwich Purple Tornado football team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 28-6 victory against Windsor.
Norwich led 14-0 at halftime with two touchdowns scored by Braden Hagenbuch off passes from Quarterback Steven Dowdall. Hagenbuch would have his third touchdown of the day in the third quarter as he ran 85 yards down the field to score off a kick off return.
Windsor answered back, coming off halftime, as Quarterback Ashton Werner would find Kohen Werner deep for 58 yards. But, they could not convert on the two-point try.
Ashton Werner led the Black Knights in rushing yards with 119 as the Tornado struggled to take him down. While he was lethal, he could not score alone.
The Tornado defense did come up big with a fumble for the final scoring play of the night. Quincy Carnachan forced a fumble from the Black Knights 10 yard line and drove to the end zone. Norwich’s Spencer Root was perfect in kicking the extra points.
Norwich (2-2) heads to Johnson City on Friday for a game scheduled for 7 p.m. before returning to its home crowd the following week.
