BOYS SOCCER: Greene comes out on top over Afton

GREENE – It was a competitive game for both the Greene and Afton/Harpursville boys soccer teams. Greene held onto a 1-0 win over the Crimson Knights on Saturday.
After a scoreless first half, Shane Rideout scored on a shot that just went past goalie Carter Burns. The goal came in the first nine minutes of the second half.
While that was it for the scoring, Greene’s goalie Tony Sergi stood his ground in net with 11 saves and Burns remained tough, despite giving up the goal.
Greene will stay home to play Bainbridge-Guilford on Thursday for a game at 5 p.m.
