VOLLEYBALL: UV back in action with win vs Union Springs

NEW BERLIN – After suffering its first loss of the season in the MAC championships, the Unadilla Valley Storm volleyball team was back in action to host Union Springs for sectionals.
In Tuesday’s matchup, the Storm won three games to one, including a close third game with a score of 25-23.
All seven players dominated the scoreboard with Shannon Kelly paving the way as she had a team-high 14 digs and picked up an ace, a kill, and an assist. Kate Conway earned nine assists, six digs, and three aces while teammate Bella Jones picked up five kills, four blocks, three digs, and two aces.
Hudson Lyons had six assists along with three kills and an ace as Maddie Sayles had nine kills, an ace, and an assist. Erica Mumbulo contributed with a kill, an assist, and a block while Ashlyn Lyons had an ace and a kill in the win.
The Storm moves on as a third seed and will join Oxford, Tioga, and Deposit-Hancock in pool play on Thursday, November 3.
