LEGO Play Time at the Guernsey Memorial Library
NORWICH – 2022 marked the 90th year of LEGO which has have been well-loved across the world by children and adults alike. LEGOs are versatile, they are fun to build with, and almost anything can be created with them. The LEGO founder, Ole Kirk Christiansen, created the name “LEGO” from the Danish word “leg godt,” which means “play well.” Indeed, many millions of people have played with LEGOs over the years.
If you found a LEGO brick from 1958 it would be able to connect with a LEGO purchased today. LEGO bricks are part of a universal system which means no matter when the bricks were manufactured, they still fit seamlessly with today’s LEGO.
It can be hard to find the time to stop and play. However, play is one of the best ways to bring us closer to our family and friends. The Guernsey Memorial Library has a LEGO Club which meets at the end of each month. It is held on Mondays at 6:00 p.m. on November 21, 2022 and December 19, 2022. In 2023, we will have a brand-new LEGO Club schedule for the new year.
Children ages 5+ are invited to come with their families and build what they wish. Children are encouraged to be creative and to show off their creations in the glass case located by the library circulation desk.
