BOYS BASKETBALL: Norwich drops two in JC Tournament
JOHNSON CITY - Over the weekend, the Norwich Purple Tornado boys basketball team participated in the Johnson City tournament, where they lost two challenging games.
On Friday, they played Newfield in a 73-45 deficit. Despite the loss, Norwich had three players in double-digits. Zak Myers scored 13 points while Steven Dowdall and Wyatt Thornton both had 10 points.
In the consolation game on Saturday, Norwich played a great first half before losing 72-47 to Athens. Myers, again, had a team-high of 13 points and went on to receive all-tournament team honors. Thornton scored 11 and Dowdall finished with eight points in the loss.
Norwich still seeks its first win of the season when they host Chenango Forks on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m.
