BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville wrestling team was back on the mat on Wednesday evening against Unatego/Unadilla Valley. The Bears defeated the Spartans by a match 36-30. This win came after a 48-23 loss to Walton-Delaware Academy on Tuesday.
There were only a handful of forfeits to give out before the real action began. Each match was quickly won by each respective team.
For B-G/A/H, they continued to see impressive performances by Jose Bivar and Devon Rowe.
Jose Bivar, coming off a win against Walton-Delaware Academy, improved to 8-5 on the season after a close 6-5 decision against Abdul Zaggout. Rowe defeated Caleb Wildenstein in a quick pin at the 1:05 mark.
The Bears also saw notable performances from Darren Florence with a quick 1:12 pin on Gavin Nordberg while teammate Elliott Briggs pinned Deven Stilson in 1:01.
Joey Florence, another key wrestler for the Bears, suffered a 1-0 loss to Unatego/UV’s Caleb Cole in the 126 weight class.
B-G/A/H will be participating in the Windsor Christmas Tournament held on December 28.
