SYRACUSE - On Saturday, the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders had five wrestlers qualify for the Section III, Division II wrestling championships. Only one wrestler moved on to states as Landon Andrade finished third and continues to be a strong contender in his final season.

The Marauders haven’t had a states champion since Jack Buell in 2016, so they are hopeful to see Andrade achieve the same accomplishment.

In the 118 weight class, Aiden Shreve was the 13th seed for the Marauders and finished at an even 2-2 record on the day. He lost his first match in a 1:11 fall to Camden’s Carson Mantelli, but picked up the next two wins. He dropped the third consolation match to Hannibal’s Zenon Derocha in a tough 3:24 pin.
