BASEBALL: OV-Cincinnatus defeats McGraw
OTSELIC – Coming off a victory over Onondaga, the Otselic Valley-Cincinnatus Vikings baseball team hosted McGraw on a cold and wet Tuesday afternoon. The Vikings had some trouble early on, but finished strong to earn a 4-3 win.
McGraw took advantage of a shaky Vikings defense in the first inning, scoring three runs. OV/C answered back with two of their own in the bottom half of the inning to stay within a one run deficit.
The score remained 3-2 up until the fifth inning as the Vikings tied the game and took the lead with a run in the sixth inning. Their defense played its best and never allowed another run in the next six innings of play to secure the Vikings’ second victory of the season.
Hunter Rozewski provided the only RBI for OV/C while Braeden Davis, Lukas Schieferstein, and Craig Dubois collected one hit each. The Vikings scored three runs off McGraw’s mishaps on defense.
Avram Moses earned the start for the Vikings, where he received a no-decision in three innings pitched. He gave up two earned runs (three runs) on two hits, six walks, two hit batters, and struck out two. Braeden Davis pitched four innings in relief, earning the win. Davis allowed one hit, walked one, and struck out five batters.
