BASEBALL: Afton falls in extra innings to Deposit/Hancock

AFTON – Coming off a tough loss to Charlotte Valley, the Afton Crimson Knights faced Deposit/Hancock, where they fell 5-2 in eight innings. Afton was down 2-1 heading into the fourth before tying the game at two to send the game into extras. In extras, Deposit/Hancock scored three unanswered runs to secure the victory.
For the Crimson Knights, Ryan Wright led the offense with two hits while Justin Reeve drove in a run with an RBI single. Braden Sadlemire and Tyler Kelly both contributed one hit each in the loss.
Reeve pitched 6.1 solid innings, giving up two runs in the first off two hits, walked four batters, and struck out 11. Braydon Baciuska took the loss in relief and struck out two batters.
Afton holds an even 3-3 record after six games played to start the season. They look to bounce back this afternoon against Bainbridge-Guilford at 4:30 p.m.
