BASEBALL: BG’s Kinter pitches a no-hitter in win over Walton
BAINBRIDGE – On Saturday, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats baseball team played in two games, where they went 1-1.
The Bobcats were victorious behind phenomenal pitching by Tim Kinter in the 11-0 shutout against Walton. In the second game, B-G fell short to Norwich in the afternoon 8-7 in the Sidney Tournament for Diabetes.
Kinter pitched six strong innings, where he finished with a no-hitter and allowed only two base runners on the morning with walks. He also struck out eight batters in the win. At the plate, Kinter went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, including an RBI double in the fifth inning.
In the fifth inning, B-G scored six runs after holding onto a 5-0 lead throughout the contest. Damon Seymour got things started with an RBI single that scored Gavin Gifford, who reached on a walk. Connor Davy led the team with three runs batted in, including a two-run double in the same inning. Kaiden Seymour, Nolan Hawkins, and Gifford each drove in one run in the win.
After the loss to Norwich in the second game of the day, B-G currently stands at 5-4 on the season and travels to Unatego on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
