CICERO – On Thursday, Sherburne-Earlville’s Lily Stoddard and Aidan Camenga competed in the Section III state qualifiers held at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.
Stoddard, a senior, competed in the discus throw, where she finished third with a throw of 100 feet exactly. Unfortunately, she missed the standard throw (110) that would have sent her to states. The 100 feet is her best throw of the season. Stoddard had qualified for states last season with a best throw of 110-3.
Camenga, a junior, participated in both the 400 meter hurdles, where he set a new best time of 58.44 seconds, and in the triple jump with a jump of 40 feet exactly. Camenga came in third for the 400 meter hurdles, but missed the standard timing for states (57.21)
Congratulations to both Lily and Aidan on a great 2023 season.
