NORWICH — Guernsey Library hopes to stay open for the public as it prepares for renovations.

Guernsey Library Director Connie Dalrymple said, “ We completed phase one of our library renovation in 2019, updating and bringing up to code our restrooms, and putting in a lift at the parking lot entrance to make access to the building easier for those with mobility issues.”

Now, in phase two, They are adding safety features to the stairs and railings, upgrading the elevator to make it generally accessible to all rather than requiring key access, creating a young adult area on the mezzanine, and fixing some flooring issues.
