CHENANGO COUNTY — In February 2023, Chenango County authorized the development of a 2050 Vision Plan.

Chenango County had a 2020 Vision Plan written in 1992. Having now passed 2020, the plan is outdated, and a new vision forward is needed, particularly in response to a post-COVID-19 pandemic world, a push to be more sustainable through the implementation of a NYS Climate Action Plan, as well as new technological and infrastructure needs.

Residents and stakeholders are invited to learn more and share input at an online workshop on August 9.

With increasing amounts of funding opportunities available, now is the time to create an aggressive vision of projects and initiatives to spur Chenango County growth into the future. The goal of the Vision Plan is to develop a community-wide vision to help guide the development of Chenango County into 2050 including economic development, sustainability and the environment, and personal services.
