Golf: Greene rolls on with win over B-G
GREENE – On Friday, the Greene Trojans golf team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 214-238 victory against Bainbridge-Guilford. Parker Flanagan shot a 33 for the team’s and all-around lowest. Coach Flanagan said he just missed shooting a 32.
“Parker birdied on holes five and six and missed a six foot putt on nine to shoot a 32,” Coach Flanagan said.
Behind Parker, Lincoln Youngs shot a 37 (+1) on the Trojans’ home par-36 course while senior Noah Symons finished with a 46 and fellow senior Austin Dehaan followed with a 47. Trent Drew rounded out the scoring with a 51 and Logan Roth represented the Trojans as the sixth golfer.
Bainbridge-Guilford welcomed new coach Tom Palmatier in the offseason, who is excited for the 2023 season, and was pleased with the season opener, despite the loss. The Bobcats were led by senior Easton Porter shot a team-low of a 42 with Michael Lipani, the team’s lone representative in the 2022 MAC tournament, behind him with a 47. Julian Pruskowski and Brock Porter tied with a 49 as Collin Dicks capped off the team scoring with a 51. Gavin Dicks also represented the Bobcats as the sixth golfer.
