Golf: Norwich picks up its sixth straight win, defeats Owego

OWEGO – After a week’s rest, the Norwich Purple Tornado got back to work as they traveled to Owego on Tuesday. Norwich scored their lowest of the season with a 212-239 victory. This is Norwich’s sixth consecutive win with five matches left.
The Purple Tornado were led by Jacob Morris, who shot a 38 and tied with Owego’s top medalist for the overall low. Aidan Stafford made his way up to finish second with a 41 as Julien Smith followed with a 42. Matthew Brunick shot a 43 while Braden Reid rounded out Norwich’s scoring with a 48. Jacob Dowdall finished as the team’s sixth golfer on the day.
Owego’s scores ranged from a 38 to a 54.
Norwich (6-0) heads to Oneonta on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
