Troopers investigate fatal Binghamton crash between motorcycle and lawnmower

BINGHAMTON – On Sunday, September 17, at approximately 2:32 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton responded to an incident involving a motorcycle and a riding lawnmower at 1415 Hawleyton Road, in the town of Binghamton.
A preliminary investigation indicates that Danny M. Shepard, age 74 of Binghamton, NY was operating a riding lawnmower in the area of the roadway and front yard of his residence and Justin T. Tarbox, age 28 of Binghamton, NY was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle and traveling south on Hawleyton Road. 
The two units collided. Shepard was pronounced deceased on scene.
Tarbox was transported by Broome Ambulance to Wilson Hospital to be treated for injuries he sustained.
The incident remains under investigation.
