Golf: Norwich clinches STAC East division with win over Windsor

WINDSOR – The Norwich Purple Tornado golf team has done it again as they clinched the STAC East division with a 229-245 win over Windsor. Norwich won the division with a 5-0 divisional record and a 8-0 STAC league record. The Purple Tornado did ended their undefeated streak with a loss to Union-Endicott on Wednesday, but remain strong at 8-1 with two matches left to play until sectionals.

While Norwich did not earn the overall low score of the day, they had four impressive players achieve the same score. Jacob Morris, Braden Reid, Matthew Brunick, and Julien Smith all shot a 45 on Windsor’s par-35 course. Aidan Stafford finished with a 49 in the win.

Windsor’s scores ranged from a low 43 to a high 52.

Norwich (8-1) has two regular season matches remaining, where they travel to Sus Valley on Tuesday, October 3 before heading home to face Seton Catholic on Thursday.
