Cross Country: Norwich and UV/GMU compete in Marathon Invitational

MARATHON – On Saturday, the Norwich Purple Tornado and the Unadilla Valley/GMU Storm cross country teams competed in the Marathon Invitational. Both teams ran in the unseeded boys’ and girls’ races.
UV/GMU’s Noah Pain led the local boys with a fourth place finish with a time of 18:32. Teammate Alex Kemnah finished 39th (20:19). Norwich’s Nic Sutton came in 14th place with a time of 19:22 in a field of 158 male runners.
For the girls, Andrea Favinger finished 20th with a time of 23:18 for the Storm. Annie Boland ran the 5000 meter run in 24:40.70 for 34th place. Kyra Brunick-Davis finished 37th (25:07.30) for the Purple Tornado with a field of 106 female runners.
Both teams will be running in the Whitney Point Invitational this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
