VOLLEYBALL: Oxford falls short to Delhi

OXFORD – It was a hard fought match between the Oxford Blackhawks and the Delhi Bulldogs volleyball teams on Tuesday. Delhi defeated Oxford 3-2 in the first round of the mini MAC postseason play.
Delhi took the first two sets by close scores 26-24 and 25-23 before Oxford won the next two to send the match into a deciding fifth set. Delhi had the 15-7 advantage to capture the overall victory.
Oxford setter Ava Benjamin finished with 29 assists as teammate Quinnlin LaMonica had five aces, 11 kills, six digs, and one block. Emmalee Reiss came away with three aces, three kills, seven digs, and a block while Mya-Rae Roys had three aces, five kills, and nine digs.
Emerson LaMonica contributed with four aces, five kills, and six digs as Brianna Fowlston rounded out the Blackhawks with three kills and seven digs.
